By drawing blood from the deep-seated areas, it may be able to treat ischemic, inflammatory, and infectious diseases. There are several bioactive components in leech saliva that have antibacterial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties, among others. Arthritis (including Gout, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), venous congestion, varicose veins, hemorrhoids vascular diseases, cellulitis, sciatica, inflammatory reactions, blood purification, ischemic heart disease, and hypertension are some of the conditions for which leech therapy is beneficial.
